Share 1st Energy business accounts
How a business sets up a nominated representative at 1st Energy and shares its energy accounts through your product.
Before you start
This guide applies to business customers with energy accounts held by a company, trust, or partnership at 1st Energy. A CDR nominated representative must be in place before business accounts can be shared. As a smaller retailer, 1st Energy publishes very little about its data sharing setup, so the steps below are the typical retailer pattern — the business should confirm the specifics with 1st Energy directly.
Appoint a nominated representative
- An authorised person on the account (the account holder or an existing authorised contact) calls 1st Energy's customer support.
- They authenticate and ask to appoint a CDR nominated representative for data sharing on the business account.
- 1st Energy records the appointment; the nominated person can then approve data sharing.
Have the business confirm the appointment is active before attempting the consent flow. For the current process, search "1st Energy Consumer Data Right nominated representative" or ask 1st Energy support about Consumer Data Right data sharing for business accounts.
Then share the accounts
Once appointed, the nominated representative starts the consent flow in your product, selects 1st Energy, authenticates, and approves sharing for the business's accounts.
If it doesn't work
- No business accounts in the consent flow — the appointment isn't recorded yet, or the person authenticating isn't the nominated representative.
- Support staff are unfamiliar with the request — smaller retailers handle these requests less often; asking for "Consumer Data Right data sharing for a business account" and, if needed, asking to be escalated usually gets there.
For anything else, the business should contact 1st Energy customer support directly.
