Connect accounts on unsupported account channels
Why some accounts can't be shared through open data and what to do when an institution's platform isn't covered.
Occasionally an end user can't share particular accounts even though their institution is supported. This usually isn't an outage or a configuration problem — institutions decide which of their account channels participate in open data sharing, and some platforms are excluded entirely.
Why this happens
Large institutions often run several banking platforms: retail online banking, small-business banking, and separate platforms for large corporate or institutional customers. Data sharing frameworks have generally prioritised consumer and small-business channels first, so accounts held on corporate or institutional platforms may not be shareable at all.
For example, in Australia (CDR), accounts held on ANZ's Transactive Global platform — used by large business and institutional customers — are not available for data sharing. This is the institution's decision; it can't be changed or worked around from the Fiskil side.
How to recognise it
- The end user connects successfully, but the accounts they expected never appear on the institution's account-selection screen during consent.
- The institution tells the account holder directly that data sharing isn't available for those accounts.
- The affected accounts sit on a corporate, institutional, or specialty platform rather than the institution's standard retail or business online banking.
If accounts that should be eligible are missing — for example, ordinary retail accounts — treat that as a different problem: see Missing or duplicate transactions and Institution outages and sync delays.
What you can do
- Confirm which platform the accounts are on. Ask the account holder which portal they use to access the accounts. If it's a corporate or institutional platform, check with the institution whether that channel participates in data sharing.
- Use a manual export as a workaround. Most business platforms support exporting transaction data (commonly CSV), which the account holder can supply to you directly.
- Check for an alternative channel. In some cases the same customer also holds accounts on the institution's standard business banking channel, which may be shareable.
