Share NAB business accounts

How a business appoints an authorised user for data sharing at NAB and shares its accounts through your product.

Before you start

This guide applies to business customers who hold accounts with NAB. NAB's appointment route is form-based, and the person being appointed must have their own NAB Internet Banking access with a NAB ID before they can share data. Businesses that bank only through NAB Connect can't share data from there — they'll need NAB Internet Banking access set up first.

Appoint a nominated representative

  1. Download NAB's Authorised User Nomination form from nab.com.au (search "NAB authorised user nomination form").
  2. Complete the form, nominating the person who will share data. For companies, trusts, and partnerships, the same form establishes the person's nominated representative status.
  3. Return the completed form to NAB.
  4. Make sure the nominated person has NAB Internet Banking registered with a NAB ID.

NAB doesn't publish a standard processing time, so allow several business days and have the business confirm with NAB before attempting the consent flow.

Then share the accounts

Once NAB has processed the nomination, the appointed person starts the consent flow in your product, selects NAB, authenticates with their NAB ID, and approves sharing for the business's accounts.

If it doesn't work

  • No business accounts in the consent flow — the nomination may not be processed yet, or the person authenticating isn't the nominated user.
  • The user banks via NAB Connect — data sharing isn't available through NAB Connect; the user needs NAB Internet Banking with a NAB ID.
  • The form was submitted but nothing changed — the business should call NAB to confirm the nomination was processed before retrying.

For anything else, the business should contact NAB business banking support or search "NAB Consumer Data Right nominated representative".
